Fiona Mitcham Jewellery

I’m a jeweller based in Tasman New Zealand. I live with my husband and our two crazily cute little kids in our 1920’s home which we have been renovating for the last few years. I work from home so I can attempt to balance family life and business….a very fine balance with busy little hands to occupy!

I found jewellery making while studying for my degree in contemporary applied arts in the UK, I instantly loved using silver and creating small artefacts that could be worn. I’ve always been drawn to graphic shapes, symbols and pattern, which all play a part in my style.

I design and hand-make all the jewellery from start to finish. Working on several current fashion collections, I am loving creating items that are bespoke yet affordable. I enjoy working to commission to create something that little bit more personal.

How did your business begin?

I found jewellery making while at university and after completing my degree I set up on my own in the Uk, then again once I moved to NZ. I have developed a new direction over the last few years and am loving designing bespoke ranges of jewellery.

What gets you up in the morning?

My kids! I love being able to mix family life and my passion for jewellery making. It does make life more stressful some days but the pay off of doing something you love from home is worth it.

When you're not working you are

Looking after my two kids, exploring this beautiful country, renovating yet another house and dreaming of what else life has to offer!
