Pouch Products

Established in 2011 Pouch Products is a family owned and operated sustainable business based in Te Horo on the Kapiti Coast.

We have created a range of easy to use, stylish, handmade reusable bags for all aspects of life, whether you are shopping, at home or at play.

Our pouches are all designed and made at our premises by a qualified seamstress using locally sourced materials wherever possible.

At Pouch Products we have a low waste policy and our creations are all designed to have no or very low waste. Each unique pattern is designed to be cut using as much of the fabric as possible without compromising the functionality of the end product. Any small fabric trimmings are either composted or repurposed in a variety of ways by us or by other local companies.

Our products have been designed to endure the daily ordeals of life and have unique features such as no seams at the base of the bags (a high stress point), minimal fastenings and double stitching for durability. Each item is individually checked for quality so you can be sure you are getting a product that will last.

Our pouches are designed for longevity ā€“ designed to be reused and to last ā€“ sustainability made simple.

How did your business begin?

Pouch Products began life in 2011 with the Produce Pouch, designed to fill a gap in the New Zealand market for reusable produce bags. With very few New Zealand made reusable bags available we started adding other products from 2013 based on what friends, family and customers were struggling to find. Our unique designs leave minimum waste during production while ensuring the products are durable and functional for a long life. Our pouches are all designed and made in our home studio in rural Horowhenua.

What gets you up in the morning?

A desire to make the world a better place for our children and future generations.

When you're not working you are

spending as much time as possible outdoors. Iā€™m a keen permaculture gardener and I love cooking/preserving with home grown organic produce.
